Our Story
Malaka Academy was born out of Shaykh Ahmed El Azhary’s vision to revive essential, often neglected intellectual masteries within the framework of the Islamic intellectual tradition. Starting as an idea in 2014, the academy sought to address a gap in classical Islamic education, focusing on foundational skills like The Art of Deep Reading, The Science of Learning, and the holistic integration of knowledge and spirituality. By 2018, Malaka Academy began offering programs in Cairo that explored the purpose of education, and learning sciences as well as Islamic psychology, and mental health—vital topics tailored to both personal development and modern challenges. These early events tackled subjects like The Art of Teaching, Learning How to Learn, Healing the Sad Soul and Scrupulosity and Religious OCD, reflecting a commitment to blending deep traditional insights with practical solutions.
Officially established in 2024, Malaka Academy is a newly launched platform dedicated to equipping Muslims to engage meaningfully with their faith in a complex world. Building on a foundation laid over the past decade, Malaka Academy offers innovative, hybrid educational models that bridge the gap between traditional learning and modern needs. From foundational courses to mastery programs, we strive to make classical Azhari scholarship accessible to diverse audiences. Shaykh Ahmed’s mission remains: to cultivate intellectually vibrant and spiritually aware individuals who can navigate the challenges of contemporary life with the depth and wisdom rooted in Islam.
